Swimming Pool

Pool: Vladik will regularly clean the pool; there is also a net left on the wall to scoop out any floating leaves and insects

Pool Towels: We’ve left towels for you to use by the pool; they are downstairs on the lower shelf of the small grey table.

Wind and umbrellas: Although the cottage is in a sheltered valley, there can be sudden winds. If there are, please put the umbrellas down. Strong winds might cause the shutters to bang so please close them.

Wi Fi Code

Wi-Fi code is: 522uha9679brmxpb  or scan the QR code above.
In the event of a thunderstorm, please disconnect the modem from both power and phone sockets.
The power supply for the modem is loceted behind the bookshelf in the twin bedroom. To remove the phone line, it is easier to remove the phone cable from the socket marked ‘ADSL’ on the back of the modem.

Safe

The safe is in the double bedroom wardrobe.
The code is 267B

Water and Plumbing

Loo Bins: Maybe you have travelled to Greece before and know not to flush toilet paper down the loo? This will cause blockage, so please use the bin provided. Spare bags are on the bathroom shelf.
Water heaters: There are 2 water heaters; one for the bathroom and one for the kitchen. The switch for the kitchen is in the fuse box downstairs, to the left of the small window and is labelled “water.” The bathroom water switch is in the fuse box in the twin bedroom and is labelled “hot water.” Each tank takes approximately 10 minutes to heat.
Water: There is a severe water shortage in the north of the island, so please make sure taps aren’t left dripping.
Please let us know if you suspect a water leak anywhere.

Getting a Taxi

If you need a local taxi, we recommend Vangelli  or Maki both speak excellent English and know where the house is.  If they don’t remember the name of the cottge, just say ‘Abi and Nick’  It is quite common for local taxi drivers to know houses more by the names of the owners.
Phone numbers are:

Vangeli +30 698 436 6800
Makis +30 694 558 1792

Rubbish and Recycling

Please put your rubbish in the green skips by the side of the roads (the nearest skip is at the top of the steep slope when you exit the house.) There are blue recycling skips next to some general green waste skips in the area, but we’re happy to take recycling on changeover day if you leave it in a bag.

Appliances

Cooker: To use the cooker, open the cupboard on the right to find the gas bottle. There is a small, round knob on the top which should be turned anticlockwise to allow gas to flow. Turn the knob clockwise after cooking. Should the gas bottle run out during your stay, please call/message us to connect a spare.

Power Cuts: If there’s a power cut during your stay, tea and coffees can be made on the stove using a gas lighter to ignite the gas at the rings (the electric starter won’t work).

Health

The nearest doctor: Dr. Stefanos has a small private clinic called Fiscardo Medical Centre in Fiscardo, above Tofelos supermarket.
His emergency phone number is +30 694 756 1600.

The nearest pharmacy is in Fiscardo, which is open from 9.00 – 20.00 Mon to Fri and 9.30 – 14.00 on Saturday. Tel: +30 26740 41220
